New Doll...Musical Snowman Angel Wing Fairy!

On eBay Now!

So, you will read in a post below about a certain fabric that I savoured for a masquerade doll dress and how it wasn't what I thought when it was finished. On top of that, I made the dress too long and really didn't want to tear it all apart again...so developed my bat doll.

The fabrics are great! A sweet orange courdoroy and a vintage orange/white/yellow shimmery paisley. I really love the both of them...especially together!

Well i finally sat down this week, tore the dress apart and put it back together again. I had no clue what I was going to do with it now but knew I was due to make a snowman. I ended up making one but totally different than what I wanted to (imagine that). I just made it as i went with no plans. Seriously...up until the last detail went on her, I still did not have a plan for her! And I changed things on her a gazillion times...lol.

She ended up being the snowman/angel/wing fairy...LOL. you all know the saying..."Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings"...

Her outfit and garland turned out really bright in the photos but really they aren't that bright in person. My favorite features are her halo of bells, her angel wing wand and that she plays three different Christmas songs...Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, and We Wish You A Merry Christmas!

We Made The Front Page!

Well, Zoey (my youngest daughter), and I, made the papers today! She is beyond excited! Yesterday, we went to a casting call for the remake of Children of the Corn. The original was also filmed in Iowa in the Souix City area.

Apparently Stephen King was more than dissatisfied with the original. The remake will follow his book more closely and is being made for the Sci-Fi Channel, due to air sometime in 2009.

Zoey and I are both horror film buffs and she was extremely nervous and excited for the opportunity to be in the film. Casting calls are being conducted through Monday but we wanted to beat the rush. So we went early yesterday morning, still batteling a ton of people for the opportunity.

We made it through the first step and now wait for call back auditions. Even if nothing comes of it, it was definately an experience for both of us!

You can view the full article in one of the two papers we are in. The link below is for the Rock Island Argus and Dispatch. Our picture is on the front page of the Argus. Here is the link with the online article. Our photo is the bottom one.

My Newest Creation, Ebay, Kids

Well, I finally finished the doll I have been working on. It took me a bit longer because the original dress that I had been savoring a certain fabric for, ended up not being what I had envisioned! Funny how everything works in theory and dreams but put it to reality and 9 times out of 10 it's totally not what you were expecting!

Anyway, so I changed her to a bat doll.

She is one of my more simple dolls (I know, you didn't think it was possible with me, right?). I'm usually one that spends many hours just on detailing my dolls. Even if I WANT a simple doll, it doesn't turn out that way. I just can't stop my fingers. However, this time, it was different! And to tell you the truth I really like her! You know the saying "less is more"? I think it totally applies to her!

I got the pattern for my apple ornies below...up and listed on ebay and my website. I haven't had a chance to get it on etsy yet.

I am pondering reopening my ebay store. I want to do it to house all of my odds and ends. Granted they are all listed on my other sites, but the more exposure, the better. I dont want to do it for the simple fact that ebay is extremely greedy and shows no compassion for those that made them who they are today and their multi billion dollar industry. And I mean us...the little people. I think i'll ponder that a little while longer.

Registration for school was yesterday...YAY! I can't even imagine how quiet it will be around here and how much more work I'll get accomplished! When your kids come to you every day for the last couple of weeks saying "I'm bored, there's nothing to do"...you know the start of school is near! And bored? Heck I was NEVER bored when I was a kid! We ALWAYS found stuff to do from dusk til dawn all summer long! We barely stopped home to eat! What is wrong with kids these days? I would love for them to live a summer in our lives back in the day...they'd never make it! LOL

It's FINALLY finished!

It's a beautiful day here. Feels like fall weather which is exactly what I love! Fall is my favorite time of year. Not just because of my favorite holiday, Halloween, or the fact that my birthday is in fall, but because it's just plain breathtaking! The changing of the leaves on the trees is a site that every person should witness at least once in a lifetime. The air is so crisp and clean and everything turns to a palette of earthy tones. Im so exicted it's almost here!

Ok, so I have been working for awhile to compile all of my vintage images onto a CD to offer others. I FINALLY finished it! I made one complete collection CD and some smaller CD's with just pieces of the collection in case you don't want all 3900 images.

It took awhile to categorize everything and give each image a name. Yes, EACH image was given a new name! Time consuming but certainly well worth it. I have named this one as Volume I because, being a graphic/web designer as well, my collection will always continue to grow!

You can get any of the CD collections on my ebay right now and I will be adding them to the rest of my sites sometime today (I hope).

School is back in session in just a couple of weeks! I bet everyone is ready for that, right? And speaking of school, I whipped up some apple ornies the other day! First ones of the season and they turned out great! I wax dipped two of the apples with my own cinnamon apple fragrance blend. I've got a set on ebay right now and will be putting more up as well.
